Fairfield Elections Postponed One Year

Fairfield City Council elections will not be held this year.  Minor cost savings were the stated reasons for leaving an extra year to everybody on the Fairfield City Council.   The organization FixFairfield.Org  argues that the election should be held this November 2013.  There are many reasons.

This opinion blog site is focusing just on this point: when there are fewer candidates to focus on, voters can make more intelligent decisions.  It is easier for Solano elected officials to hide behind on few station, when there is too much information presented to the voters.

There are too many candidates running for political office in California during major elections. FixFairfield.Org's studies show Solano voters are less able to make intelligent choices between the many different candidates. There are many many issues involved. Some people argue that more people will vote in Solano election years when major candidates are running.   While this is a very good point, those that you take the time to study the issues, are more likely to elect the officials that are best for the community.

Remember, there are many political candidates and elected officials who really do care about the job. However would all the elected officials in Solano County still be in office today, were voters really help ed getting all facts?

Good news is it appears the economy is getting better. Government is doing something right and voters appear happier.
